2010 SPRING CLASSES

DRAWING
Ongoing class for new and continuing students. This class teaches classical drawing concepts such as composition, perspective, color and shading and includes demonstrations of techniques in pastel, charcoal, pencil, India ink, Prismacolor and mixed media. All supplies included.

ANIMAL DRAWING
This popular summer class is being offered for the first time during the
school year. Learn about and draw different animals, birds and fish. Focus is on understanding conformation and learning appropriate techniques for creating fur, feathers, and other animal textures using a variety of mediums.

ADVANCED STUDIO
Ongoing class for new and continuing students who choose their individual areas of interest and subject matter to pursue in depth.
All supplies included.
*Prerequisite: Minimum of 2 full years of drawing classes or portfolio review

FACES
This class is concurrent with the advanced studio class. New students will do self portraits and pose for each other while learning how to draw faces in profile, full face and three quarter view. Continuing students will work independently. Strong emphasis on learning techniques for drawing features, hair and shading.

OIL PAINTING
Ongoing class for new and continuing students who learn classic oil painting techniques and work independently on subject matter of choice. Supplies not included for this class only.
*Prerequisite: Minimum of 2 full years of drawing classes or portfolio review.
